STREET STYLE MYSORE DOSA : Indian Street Food
In its most simple form, Dosa is very similar to a crepe and is a very popular street food in India. Dosa is famous for its simple ingredients, interesting flavors, and even its sweet aroma. I love it for how easy and clean the ingredients are.
Mysore Masala Dosa is favorite Dosa of almost everyone. This dosa is especially famous in Mumbai, Street Food vendors. This Mysore Masala Dosa is stuffed with red potato & vegetable stuffing.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Butter 1 tbsp Oil 1/4 tsp Garlic Paste 1 tsp Spring Onions 1 Chopped Onion 1/2 Capsicum 1 tsp Grated Beetroot 1 Chopped Tomato Salt to Taste 1/2 tsp Pavbhaji Masala 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder 1-1/2 tsp Red Chilly Powder 1 tsp Coriander Cumin Powder Water as Required Fresh Coriander 1 Cup Aloo Masala or 2 Boiled Potato 1 tbsp Butter 1/2 Lemon Juice
For Mysore Dosa Batter:
- 3 cups Rice (soaked & ground)
- 1 cup Split White Lentils (soaked & ground)
- Fenugreek Seeds (soaked & ground)
- Oil
- 1 tsp Butter
Method of Making Mysore Masala Dosa Street Style:
1. Combine salt and sugar with fermented batter.
2. Heat a flat pan and sprinkle little oil.
3. Spread oil evenly with paper towel.
4. Sprinkle water to bring down temperature.
5. Pour Dosa batter and spread evenly to form round Dosa.
6. Keep the Dosa thick and cook until dry.
7. Lower the heat and add butter, red chutney, onions, red peppers and tomatoes
8. Add salt, sambar masala and 1/2 cup water.
9. Mix well using spatula and add 1 boil potato pieces.
10. Use a masher to mash all the vegetables.
11. Add 1/2 cup water and mash again.
12. Let it cook until 3 to 4 minutes.
13. Remove half the stuffing to serve with Dosa.
14. Keep the other half stuffing on one side of Dosa and fold into half.
15. Remove from pan and serve piping hot.
